Leonetti Aglianico 2017

The 2017 Aglianico Serra Pedace Vineyard presents spiced black raspberry and intense aromas of crème de cassis and brown baking spices, forming a firm, dusty, rustic nose with hints of black cherry and baked clay. Full-bodied and broad-shouldered, a tannic structure on the palate gives way to layers of ripe, succulent fruit flavors, including mocha, black cherry, blackberry and boysenberry. As the wine unfolds, it reveals a fine mineral tension with an element of graphite and oak spice notes, leading to a long, spicy finish with a firm tannic edge. This Aglianico spent 44 months aging in a combination of new and used French oak barrels and neutral oval botti. It still requires time to reach its full potential, so be patient. 4,380 bottles produced.
