Oregon Wine

Oregon has not been a major player for wine in America for an extremely long time, but when it was started in the 1970’s, it developed a style and portfolio of wine that are all its own. The lush Willamette and Yamhill Valleys were found to be the perfect climate for Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. The warmer regions to the south, the Umpqua and Rogue River Valleys were found to be perfect for Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Spanish varietals like Tempranillo. And remember, much of the Walla Walla Valley, Columbia Valley and Columbia Gorge are in Oregon as well, not just Washington!
